In January 2015, we launched the project for installation of the fuel consumption monitoring system on board the Atlantic Bridge bulk carrier. This fact initiated the pilot project for equipping the Aframax vessels with fuel management systems (under the authority of V-Ships company, UK).
The system configuration includes:
- Differential installation of Kral AG screw-type flow meters for main engine fuel metering.
- Installation of fuel flow meters for the group of consumers including three Diesel Generators.
- The momentary fuel consumption data and history are indicated on the 7″ operator panel installed in central control room and can be transferred via the ship computer network.
- The system uses the data transmitted by torsion meters fitted on propeller shafts, which allows the operator to monitor the fuel consumption in the g/kW ratio and select the optimal load condition.
The turn-key system installation was carried out by our specialists in several phases when the ship was at berth in the ports of Great Britain.
